Meaning signs and symbols part 2

  1. What is the difference between a sign and a symbol? 2. What are the three elements of the symbolic relationship (the "blue triangle of meaning")? 3. Is a word a sign or a symbol? Why? 4. Describe one natural sign that you've seen in the world. 5. Describe one symbol you've seen in the world. What (referent) did it stand for? How did you know what it meant?

1. the difference between a sign and symbol is signs represent something we know in a natural way like seeing burnt trees means there was a fire. Symbols are signs we create to let others what it means.

2. the three elements of the symbolic relationship is symbol, Referent, and us.

3.  A word is a symbol because someone made up how to pronounce and write a word.

4. One natural sign I seen in the world is a black cloud, if I see black cloud at the sky it might mean a storm is coming.

5. One symbol I seen in the world is a crosswalk sign,  it meant you are allowed to cross a street. I learned how it meant by reading a manual book about the meanings of street sign.
