READING V. LISTENING

when reading the story Young Goodman Brown my brain starts to create pitcure of charatres and their soundings but lestining to the story creates a new image for me. I don't know how to explain this, all i can describe is moving pitures happenig in my mind. I think the reason why reading and lestenting is so different to me is because when reading a story i use both parts of my head, eyes for looking at the words and brain to make up picture and the words. On the other hand when lestening to a story i close my eyes and only use my brain to fully imagine where and what are the characture doing.

YOUNG OLD GOOD BAD

Why do you think Hawthorne wrote "Young Goodman Brown"?  Why do you think Stephen King was so affected by the story?  What does it say about what we can really know about other people and the power of our imaginations?

There may reasons why Hawthorne wrote Yong Goodman Brown, it could be Wawthrone wanting to write a scary story for fun, or it coud be Hawthorne had the same dream and wanted to write similar story. I think the reson why Stephen king was so affected by the story is it might of give him the thought of all the bad dreams he had could be true. I don't really know what it says about people and imagination. All i know is people you know have a dark side and our imagination may be true or not.

Young Goodman Brown Question

  1. What do you think Hawthorne's purpose was for writing this story?                        I think Hawthorn's propose for writing this story was to give a lecture about what you believe in isn't always true.
  2. Hawthorne states that Brown's wife is "aptly named" Faith.  After reading the story, do you agree?  Does Faith's name fit her personality?  Does Brown have true faith in her?                                                                                                                   I agree that faith does fit her personality because in the story the Goodman believes his wife is a good Christian woman but when he discovers she isn't, Goodman still had faith in her. Causing Goodman to join the cult.
  3. What do you think the pink ribbons signify? I think the pink ribbons signify faith being pure when wearing the ribbon until when she takes off the ribbon she shows her true dark colors.
  4. Was everything Brown witnessed real, a figment of his imagination, something conjured by evil, or a dream?  Support your answer with passages from the text.                                                                                                                    I think brown was dreaming because in the story Brown finds the pink ribbon belonging to his wife in the story, "But something fluttered lightly down through the air, and caught on the branch of a tree. The young man seized it, and beheld a pink ribbon". When brown wakes up he sees his wife still wearing the pink ribbon.
  5. Who do you think the old man really is?  What textual clues tell you this?          I think the old man is a devil because the witch shouted devil towards the old man.
  6. What does the staff represent?  Do you think the staff leads Brown onward or is the primary motivator Brown's own conscience/mind?                                         I think the staff represents darkness and i think this the primary motivator for Brown to accept the darkness.
  7. If Brown had not ventured into the forest, how would his life be different?  If he'd stayed home, would Brown still have Faith?  Would he still trust his wife and his fellow townspeople?   If Brown had not ventured into the forest he would still be had faith in what he believes in and would still trust his wife and his fellow townspeople.

Right to your opinion essay

An influencer named Sonia Sae had a strong opinion about veganism is good for everyone including animals. To prove her point she made her pet Fennec fox named Jumanji go on a plant-based diet. The thing about Fennec Fox is 90% of their diet makes up of meat from bugs, small rodents, and lizards. the other 10% are foods that help stay hydrated like fruits and roots from plants. Sonia’s took picture to show everyone on the internet how well Jumanji’s new diet is treating him. Many were angry with how bad the diet is affecting the fox because they saw symptoms of malnourishment like hair loss vision failure and wight loss. Not matter how much proof their showing to Sonia, she still did not want to admit she’s wrong, instead Sonia made up excuses that Jumanji has been already check by vets and is not suffering malnourishment. Now the point I’m getting from this is, can you be entitled to an opinion even though its wrong? Form my respective I think no.

Acceptance

We all have been in a argument with friend or a family member before. Usually we sometimes lose and accept your opinion being wrong. Sure, it can be embarrassing, admitting yourself wrong on an opinion you confidently believe is right. It’s okay to be wrong cause in life you don’t ways have the right answers. Acknowledging your mistake can help be more open mind with other opinions people share. To me this stuff happens to me all the time epically at school. Whenever blabber out an opinion I think is correct, my classmate would correct me by saying, “are you sure its correct”? Causing me look though my answers to see if I am correct. I’m glad I listened their opinions without it, I could fail on my quiz or test.

Stubbornness

There are people in world who are stubborn to see the truth. No matter how many evidences you have that are back-up by professions, their stubbornness will always block the truth. What causes them to not see the truth? Well it might their entitlement, in their mind they think they have all answers. Thus, giving them a reason not to hear other opinions. This can negatively affect themselves by becoming more exclusive to one thing, which is proving they are right in an opinion that does not make sense. Sure being entitled to your opinion is part of your right but that is not okay is spreading it toward others.

Outcome

Some think being entitled to an opinion won’t hurt or cause trouble towards others. The truth is it does affect other. An example for is the president of the United states Donald Trump. The presidents is a very complex guy, Making use scratch our head from opinions has like disinfecting can treat Covid-19, building a wall and saying he’s in great shape. One opinion I think is the most confusing is Trumps interview Axio. In a short video Axio asked trump about the high increase on covid-19 death case. To Trumps response, he showed axios a chart saying the United states has lowest cases of Covid- 19 deaths. I can already see the expression Axios is showing that it’s not the right responds he was looking for. In the begging Axios explains Trump that what he’s saying about the U.S Covid situation already been taken care of is misleading others to think they are no longer in danger in getting infected

Being able to learn or not learn your mistakes is all up on you. Accepting your mistakes may help you move forward in life while not accepting may pull you back. What you must not do is make others accepted your opinion being aright.

Paragraph on your right to your opinion.

Many are wondering, are you entailed to your opinion? The answer to this is yes and no. If you were in an argument with another person about who is right or wrong then there is a change you or them might have the correct answer. being wrong to an answer can cause the person to get angry or still think their answer is correct. It is your obligation to tell them their answer is wrong so they can't make a fool of themselves. An example I found for this is two men walking across a street in the UK. The first man is new to this place, where he comes from drivers only drive on the right side of the street. In order to cross a street, you need to look to your right. But where he's from drivers only dive to the left side. So two men are at the street the second looks to the left and see a car coming while the first looks at the right and see no cars coming. Thinking all drivers drive at the right side he crosses the street. man number two sees man number one crossing the street not knowing there's a car coming towards him. the second man now has an obligation to save the other man from getting hit by the car because his opinion about everyone driving on the left side is wrong.

Is drawing a hard skill?

I always hear classmates say their bad at drawing or drawing is a hard thing to do, but what they do not know is they already know how to draw. Remember the time when you first drew a picture as a kid now fast forward to all the drawings you did at home and at school to now. What you remembered is you already acquiring the skill of drawing. Now I know that your thinking, " if I already know how to draw why isn't my drawing good?" Well, the answer might be you not learning how to improve. Like many other skills once you acquired it you either have two options, improve or not to improve.
