(Title: FINAL REFLECTION FOR AMERICAN LITERATURE 2020-2021)

Out of all the semesters I been through this one was unlike any other semester I've experienced. What made this semester different was how it started in the middle of a pandemicIt wasn’t what I’ve expected to start the beginning of the semester at home with a laptop in Infront of my face. Surprisingly time passed by and a week from finishing the first semester. There some things I wish I could have done better like my blog. Sure, there a lot of posts but these posts are classwork, not journals or blogs describing my path towards sharpening my drawing skills. If only I’ve put in the effort in posting my personal blogs, I could have improved s my skills in drawing. There is one work I have done that I consider proud of doing which is my journalsAt the being of the semester, I wasn’t that into the journals but after a few days, I started to enjoy writing down my thoughts. Who knew writing down on a piece of paper could be Calming. What I learned in this course that will help in the future is adapting to new changes. Ever since Covid-19 struck California pretty badly schools started to do online teaching. This new method was strange not because I don't know how to use technology but seeing someone from a screen every day felt like watching a TV. If it were in person my brain will actually start taking information. When seeing a teacher on screen nothing triggers in my head. I thought to myself I need to focus my mind if not will fall behind. It took me a while to get used to online learning but eventually, I started to adapt. We've read interesting texts from different books or poems like Young Goodman Brown, The Pedestrian, and Fahrenheit 451. Each of these texts has literary techniques that make the texts interesting or effective to read. In one text from Fahrenheit 451, it describes a hose-like giant python spitting venom. IT was a special pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changed. With the brass nozzle in his fists, with this great python spitting it's venomous. The literary technique used in the text is symbolism meaning presenting ideas on objects. Another text is from The Pedestrian describing the main character's surroundings this particular evening he began his journey in a westerly direction, toward the hidden sea. There was a good crystal frost in the air; it cut the nose and made the lungs blaze like a Christmas tree inside; you could feel the cold light going on and off, all the branches filled with invisible. When reading this text it causes the reader to feel like their out in the cold too, Mood was the literary technique used in the text. I couldn’t find a text that fits with Characterisation in  Fahrenheit 451. The book had a good character structure. From being Montage didn’t know the truth of their society until he meets a girl who showed him the truth causing Montag to see everything differently. Looking back on our experience together as a class there is  one thing I found out most meaningful  and that was reading stories with the class and with Mr.Prestion
